High dropout rates plague traditional outpatient treatment programs for substance use disorders (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, 2008). This week’s STASH reviews a new study that evaluated the effectiveness of two adjunctive services aimed at improving outcomes among individuals who have begun treatment for cocaine dependence (McKay et al., 2010).
